My Travels…

Hello Everyone!

Hi All…

A few people have mentioned to me that I should start a blog describing my travels and experiences during those travels so here it is.

For those that don’t know I am an instrumentation and controls engineer that travels around the world working on power plants. My job is basically to configure the computer systems and networks that control and monitor the plant. It’s a fun job but can be demanding in both time and travel. Since I started doing this I have been to China, Canada, Belgium, Italy, and most recently, Venezuela. I did this job for about five years but was laid off around the end of 2004. I was contacted early in 2007 about going back to work for the same company as a contractor and I accepted. This time I set a condition that I wanted to do international assignments only which has been the case so far. I would do a job in the US but prefer the international travel right now.

As I travel to new parts of the world I will start new sections where I will describe the country as I see it. I don’t intend to insult anyone with anything I write but I will tell it like I see it, good, bad, or ugly. As time permits I will go back in time to the beginning and add some articles about the countries I have already been to.

The first will be Venezuela as I will be traveling there tomorrow to finish a job I started about 2 months ago. We left before the elections there due to some possible violence we heard might happen if the ruling party lost in the elections. Luckily nothing happened so I’m heading back to finish. I hope to be done in a couple of weeks but it will probably be longer. The customer cut a lot of corners during construction so we will probably have a lot of problems.

Thanks for reading and Enjoy!!!

Glenn
